How do we collect your data?

Some of the data we collect is provided by you directly. You may provide this data by completing and submitting a contact form, for example.

Other data is collected automatically by our IT systems when you visit our website. This applies primarily to technical data (e.g. your internet browser, your operating system and the time at which you accessed our website). This data is collected automatically as soon as you access our website.

What do we use your data for?

We use some of the data we collect to keep our website up and running without any issues. Other data allows us to analyse your use of our website.

2. General and required information

Privacy policy

The operator of this website is committed to protecting your personal data. We keep your personal data confidential and process it in accordance with the statutory data protection provisions and this privacy policy. Various types of personal data are collected when you visit this website. Personal data is data that relates to you as an identified or identifiable person. In this privacy policy, we outline the types of data we collect and what we use that data for. We also explain how we process the data and our purpose for doing so.

It is important to note that there is always a risk of a security breach whenever data is being transmitted online (e.g. in email communications). There is no way of guaranteeing that data will not be accessed by third parties.

Data controller

The data controller responsible for processing data on this website is:

Contemporary communication agency
Kaner Thompson GbR
Günterstalstraße 20
79100 Freiburg, Germany

Tel. +49 (0)761 1207587
Email: post@kanerthompson.de

The data controller is defined as the natural or legal person which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names and email addresses).

Withdrawing your consent to data processing

In many cases, your personal data cannot be processed unless you provide explicit consent. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal email to that effect. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority

As the data subject, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if there has been an infringement of data protection provisions. The relevant supervisory authority for matters relating to data protection is the state data protection officer for the federal state in which our company has its headquarters. Click on the following link to access a list of the data protection officers and their contact details: https://www.bfdi.bund.de/EN/Service/Anschriften/Laender/Laender-node.html.

Right to data portability

You have the right to receive data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or for the performance of a contract in a commonly used and machine-readable format or have that data transmitted to a third party. If you request for your data to be transmitted directly to another controller, we will only be able to do so if it is technically feasible.

SSL/TLS encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to provide protection when confidential information is being transmitted – when you send orders or requests to us as the website operator, for example. You know that a connection is encrypted when “https://” appears in the address bar in your web browser instead of “http://”. You will also see a padlock icon in the address bar.

When SSL or TLS encryption is activated, third parties are not able to access any data you send us.

Access, blocking, erasure

In accordance with the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right to request information about any personal data being stored about you as well as its origin, its recipients and the purpose of processing that data at any time and at no cost to you. You also have the right to have that data rectified or erased and its processing blocked. If you have any questions about your rights as a data subject or anything else relating to personal data, you are welcome to contact us at any time using the contact details provided in our legal notice on this website.

Objection to email marketing

The contact details published as part of the required legal notice must not be used to send any advertising and information materials that have not been explicitly requested. The website operator explicitly reserves the right to take legal action in the event that unsolicited marketing is received – in the form of spam emails and so on.

4. Analytics services and advertising

Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” (hereinafter referred to as “reCAPTCHA”) on our website. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). reCAPTCHA is used to distinguish between human and automated access to our website when data is input (e.g. in a contact form). reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of visitors to the website on the basis of various indicators. The analysis starts as soon as a user accesses the website. reCAPTCHA analyses all kinds of information (e.g. IP address, length of website visit and mouse movements). 5. Plugins and tools

YouTube

Our website uses plugins provided by YouTube, a platform owned by Google. The operator of that website is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA.

When you visit a page on our website with a YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. As a result, YouTube can identify which pages of our website you have visited. If you are signed into your YouTube account, you are allowing YouTube to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can stop this from happening by signing out of your YouTube account.

The website operator has an interest in using YouTube to ensure that the website looks professional. This constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

You can read more about how user data is used in YouTube’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB.

Google Web Fonts

This website uses Google Web Fonts to ensure that fonts are displayed consistently. When you access a page, your browser caches the required fonts so that text and fonts are displayed correctly.

This requires a connection to be established between the browser you are using and Google servers. As a result, Google becomes aware that you are accessing our website from your IP address. The website operator has an interest in using Google Web Fonts to ensure that the website looks professional with text and fonts displaying consistently. This constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. If your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font on your computer will be used instead.

You can find out more about Google Web Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and read Google’s privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB.

This website uses the Google Maps map service via an API. This service is provided by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Your IP address has to be stored if you wish to use the features offered by Google Maps. This information is usually sent to a Google server in the USA, where it is stored. The provider of this website has no control over this transfer of data. The website operator has an interest in using Google Maps to ensure that the website looks professional and to help people find the places we mention on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR.

You can read more about how user data is used in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB.
